The planetary trail
A hike between heaven and earth, with your feet on the ground and your head in the stars.
Opening period: Accessible all year round
The Trail:
• The first part, a pleasant walk through the woods, leads to Jupiter, then on to the Lac du Senateur. This fun and easy part of the track will delight young and old alike.
Distance: 3 km, elevation gain: 100 m, duration: approximately1h30 round trip.
• The route continues with a panoramic crossing leading to the Sainte-Marie shelter. The numerous astronomy themed sculptures and stops along the way will allow you to rest and reflect.
Distance from the start: 6 km, elevation gain:200 m, duration: approximately 3h round trip.
• The final, more challenging part of the trail ends at Neptune, the highest point on the route. This walk between heaven and earth features some truly magnificent scenery.

The Variants (all from same starting point) :
"Images en alpage": For the summer 2021, the " Images en Alpage " exhibition has been transformed.

"Découverte" trail (Discovery): Enjoy a 360° view of the Mercantour National Park, the Var Valley and the Cians Gorges as you climb to the top of the Croix du Sapet. A round trip of 2 hours, for 3km, with the option of a meal in the restaurent after an ascent of 200m to 1821m altitude.
"Nine" trail : This very easy loop of 2 km and 100m of elevation gain takes you to the side of Nine, the hypothetical 9th planet of our solar system. This one-hour gentle trail is perfect for discovering the mysteries of modern astronomy, while meandering through the larch trees.
